The use of moldings can be dated back to the ancient Greece, the prominent period wherein most architectural styles and designs were created.

The only difference from the ancient times and the present is that moldings are no longer used for temples, they’re now used for homes-especially in the kitchen.

Let’s take a closer look at the different types of molding and their uses:

CROWN MOLDING

Crown molding is a decorative trim attached to kitchen cabinet tops for a seamless transition from the ceiling to the cabinetry itself.

It is also used as an accent to add details and express a homeowner’s personal style. The most common crown molding types are traditional, interior, stacked, and stepped crown molding.
